MASANTOL, Pampanga, May 9 (PIA) -- A multi-purpose building/evacuation center worth P8 million is being constructed in Barangay San Nicolas.
The construction is being funded by the El Circulo Masantolenos in the United States, the National Housing Authority and the Masantol local government.
It will serve as an evacuation center for families from the coastal villages of Bebe Anac, Sto. Nino, Sta. Lucia, Sta. Lucia Matua and Paguiba who are affected by prolonged flooding in their areas.
When not in use by those who will be relocated, sports competitions may also be held in the building.
The building will also accommodate the offices of the senior citizens organization, the youth group and other civic entities.
Masantol mayor Peter Flores annually allots a substantial portion of the budget for physical infrastructure projects and the renovation of existing ones. This is to answer the prospective needs of the town. (CLJD/RGSD-PIA3)
